We are only processing direct claims if we have claimed for the condition previously and it has already been approved by the insurance company.
Any initial claim must be paid at the time of treatment and claimed back to the policy holder. Thereafter, if agreed by our team, we can direct claim for any further treatment. Please be aware, if there are any issues with insurance settlements, we hold the right to cancel direct claim agreements. All direct claims are at the discretion of Allan Veterinary Surgery.
We must have your policy number and any necessary information given before we can process any claim. Most insurance companies now have online portals for the policy holder to submit claims on the day of an appointment or medication collection.
If we have not received payment from your insurance company for a direct claim over 30 days, we require the policy holder to settle the balance and any payment received will be refunded back to the policy holder.
It is important that you tell us if you are unhappy with any service you have received. You can submit your complaint in writing to the owner of our practice. Please ask our reception team for information.
If you would like to order certain medications online yourself, we can supply a written prescription, which lasts for three months, for a charge. Please note, buying online is at your own risk and we cannot guarantee the authenticity of the medications as we have no relationship with online pharmaceutical companies.

The Pet Crematorium
As beloved pet owners ourselves, we understand the heartache of losing a family member. We aim to offer help and support of arranging your pet's memorial.
We work alongside "The Pet Crematorium" at Larkhall where you can choose a range of different services.

If you would like your pet referred to a specialist we are happy to assist with this. For data protection purposes, we require your permission to forward over any information to the relevant organisation.
As we are a very experienced training practice, veterinary students may be involved in the treatment and care of your pet, under supervision from our qualified team of vets and nurses.
